Don’t Be a Hater. You’re Meant for Something Greater.

I’m going to share a little story with you today about my journey and a daily practice that I’ve used to radically improve the quality of my life.

In my early 20’s, I went through a season of struggle that lasted much longer than I would’ve liked. During that time, things got so challenging that I often wondered if life was worth living. I was without adequate finances, love, peace, purpose, or a consistent spiritual practice – and all I could perceive in my life was lack. Comparing my life to others’ had become a private obsession and I kept looking outside of myself for solutions to my problems.

I was a blamer, un-grateful, a victim, a defeated person, and sometimes, even a hater.

And I really didn’t like who I’d allowed myself to become (It certainly wasn’t who I imagined I’d grow up to be). It wasn’t until I got fed up with the status quo, had a face the mirror moment, and decided to try out a new mindset called “taking full responsibility for my life” that I began to really grasp that I was the one who was responsible for what my life had become.

My life was how it was because of My choices, world view, mindsets and behaviors.

It was kind of hard to accept at first, but when I really let that sink in, I started to feel empowered. Yes, my life was as it was because of my choices; but it could also be how I wanted it to become if I could learn how to make better ones. Having that realization sent me on a mission of Self-Improvement. I actively began researching and learning how I could become who I wanted to be:

Responsible, Grateful, Empowered, Successful, and Loving.

Once I got the personal responsibility part down, I directed my attention towards developing a consistent daily Gratitude practice. Doing that laid the foundation for all of the other uplifting mindsets that I’ve adopted over the years – mindsets that have actually helped me to accomplish my goals.

That’s why having a daily Gratitude practice is so powerful: It has the ability to instantly change your mood for the better.

Having a positive mood can also birth other fruitful mindsets like inspiration, motivation, empowerment and perseverance. You can change the entire tone of your day, get much more accomplished, and have better relationships – all by developing and maintaining a daily Gratitude practice. It does take time and discipline to habituate, but once you do, you’ll be AMAZED by how it can improve the quality of your life for the better.

This Month’s Motivating Mindset Video is all about helping you Develop a Daily Gratitude Practice so that you can have the positive mood that you’ll need to build the life that you deserve.
